Topic 1: Introduction to the Use of Generative AI Tools in Education (1 hour)
- Overview of Generative AI Tools
- Popular Generative AI Tools: Generate human-like text based on prompts, aiding in writing emails, reports, and content creation.
- Hands-On Practice: Explore tools like GPT-3, Microsoft Copilot, Germini, etc.
Application Scenarios:
- Automate personalized feedback for student assignments using GPT-3.
- Use AI to generate engaging teaching materials, such as quizzes or discussion prompts.
Topic 2: AI Tools for PowerPoint Presentations (1 hour)
- Introduction to AI-Powered Presentation Tools
- Popular AI Tools for PowerPoint, Poster Design, and Media Image Presentations: Slidego, Gamma, Canva, etc.
- Hands-On Practice: Leveraging AI tools for effective educational presentations in PowerPoint
Application Scenarios:
- Design interactive and visually appealing lecture slides with AI tools like Canva.
- Create dynamic multimedia presentations using tools like Slidego to enhance student engagement.
Topic 3: Utilizing GPT Models for Excel, Word & PowerPoint (1 hour)
- Introduction to GPT Models
- Integrating GPT Models with Excel: Automate tasks to enhance productivity by streamlining repetitive processes/tasks.
- Using GPT Models in Word: Aid in brainstorming to improve efficiency and elevate document quality.
- Hands-on Practice: Effectively leverage GPT models in Excel, Word & PowerPoint
Application Scenarios:
- Automate data analysis in Excel to track student performance and identify trends.
- Streamline administrative tasks in Word, such as syllabus creation, course proposals, report writing, promotional copywriting, and procurement justifications with AI assistance.
"Projectification" is defined as “a change in organizational and governance structure to increase the primacy of the processes of projects within a central organization and its supply networks” Kuura (2011). Due to this change, our learners would become "self-employed". International certification becomes a "must" in the partnership process / finding jobs.

In this seminar, the strategic planning of SCOPE related to the FIRST program (Future Intelligence Ready Skills & Training) will be introduced. In particular, the signals and drivers of future training that shaped SCOPE’s strategies will be discussed. The quantitative results of an exploratory study on future intelligence conducted by SCOPE will also be presented.
Dr. Leung is the Director of the School of Continuing and Professional Education (SCOPE), the City University of Hong Kong (CityU). He is in charge of spearheading professional and executive training programmes, fostering collaborative ties with industry and education partners, providing directions on student development, and formulating policies on school administration, resources management, and financial planning. Before his appointment as Director of SCOPE, Dr. Leung served as Director of the Executive MBA (EMBA) programme and Associate Professor of Marketing at CityU for more than 20 years. Recognising his contributions to teaching and student learning, he was nominated and awarded as the Winner of the 8th Teaching Excellence Award and the Winner of the Student Learning
由於疫情持績及嚴峻、加上經濟不景氣,許多學生對自己在香港的未來缺乏信心或希望,產生了不同類型的負面情緒和反應。另外,有些學生因為格問題,家庭的影響, 成長過程, 學習能力或各種其他因素如以往的過分依賴教師的學習慔式,以致他們常提出不合理要求及跟進。這不但使教師面臨的工作壓力增加不少,亦導致學生與教師產生不少磨擦和阻礙教學的進度,從而最終可能影響教師工作表現。在此五十分鐘演講中, 講者首先會簡介學院提供學生輔導的服務,然後從多方面角度探討學生在學習中個別異常行為,老師又可以如何處理及開解和鼓勵他們有正確方向發展人生觀。最後,講者亦會討論如何幫助教師管理自身的情緒,提升教師身心健康,從而可以有效地將壓力解除及提升工作滿意度 。講者亦會分享他曾經處理的個案的經驗, 和參與者一齊互動討論。

關偉康,文學士,法學士,社工碩士,哲學博士,社工,家事調解員 關偉康博士是本學院人文及社會科學部講師及一位經驗豐富的社會工作者。他亦是本學院學生發展部門其中一位學生輔導員。他最擅長執教科目包家庭關係研究,並熱衷於研究家庭輔導、調解和法律。他曾在不同機構中工作,熱愛於幫助年輕人成長。
With the wide applications of zoom in teaching and learning, many educationists have developed new perspectives of on-line learning. This seminar will share the seven major affordances of IT in education. In particular, it will talk about how IT can a afford to implement the pedagogy such as recursive feedback and co-creation of knowledge.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers and students around the globe continue education remotely with the use of information technologies. City University of Hong Kong was one of the front runners to transition from physical classes to synchronous online teaching and learning (also known as CityU-Learning) in 8 days. While the pandemic persists, the extensive use of e-learning tools broadens from lectures and tutorials to laboratory work, practicums, and examinations. A revolution in education has been progressing with the contributions of all educators and learners. The seminar will reflect on what we did in 2020 and before to empower this education revolution, review the lessons learnt, and predict the new normal of teaching and learning after the pandemic.

In order to prevent the novel coronavirus from spreading on campus, the University announced on 27 January 2020 that we will move to an interactive online learning environment starting from 7 February 2020 until further notice. All classes will be delivered online and in real time, according to the original timetables. The interactive online learning classroom will be conducted through Zoom via the Canvas. As such, SCOPE arranged a tailor-made training workshop for Part-time teaching staff on 21 September 2020. The response was encouraging and attendees found the workshop very useful and helpful to their online teaching.

在現今社會, 人工智能(Artificial Intelligence) 已成為一個非常熱門話題和改變人類發展的重要科技。它不但改變了我們的生活,還影響每個行業, 包括教育界。 在此五十分鐘演講中, 講者會介紹人工智能的基本概念、歷史、發展, 以至人工智能怎樣改變及提升教學和學習方式。 此外, 講者亦會介紹如何利用人工智能簡化學校行政的工作,及令整個系統,包括教育行政、學校管理等,更暢順和更有效率。其他新技術如大數據 (Big Data) 、 區塊鏈(Blockchain) ,亦會簡要地介紹它們如何幫助教學及學校行政管理,例如招生、課程需求、課程成效、課程認證、學生數據等。

This seminar will cover Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs), Teaching and Learning Activities (TLAs), and Assessment Tasks (ATs). Participants will be able to define, describe, create, and apply ILOs, TLAs, and ATs within the Outcome-Based Teaching and Learning approach.

擴增實境(AR)和虛擬實境(VR)技術 已經改變了我們互動的方式及內容。如何選擇適當教學方法去接納其帶來之變化,將會是高等教育一大挑戰。在此四十五分鐘演講中, 香港城市大學對虛擬實境技術有什麽應對的規劃、如何製作、 應用和執行的階段將被涵蓋和探索討論。XR,AR和VR的概念也將在本次研討會上作深入淺出介紹。
AR/VR has changed the way we interact with the contents, how to embrace the changes for choosing appropriate pedagogies would become challenging in higher education. During this 45 minutes talk, stages about planning, production, delivering of VR project of CityU modules will be covered. Also, the concepts of AR/VR/XR will be introduced in this seminar.
