  2. Listening in the workplace

     - Descriptions and explanations
       - Briefing on a study

       - Promotion of new products/ services

• Skills for understanding the entire message in oral communications

  1. Active and empathic listening skills for helping people to express:

     - Express brief verbal affirmations for building trust and showing concerns

     - Acknowledge feeling s and mirror moods

     - Techniques of a sking open ended questions

     - Use the same tone and wordings to show understanding through paraphrasing and summarizing

  2. Listening in the workplace

     - Advice and suggestions
       - Understanding customers’ requests and complaints
     - Arguments and evaluations
       - Presentation of tender proposals

• Form Six; or Form Five with at least two years’ working experience; & Pass entry test; or
• Holder of “Foundation Certificate in Workplace English (Listening & Speaking) II (Part-time)” of ERB, or equivalent; and
• General Admission Criteria

* Final Oral Examination is not included in training hours. Trainees are required to sit for the final oral examination beyond training hours.
