Worldwide Multimedia Business Communication
Improve students’ English proficiency and communication skills necessary for internal and external business communication and enhance their employability and capacity for further studies in business.
Marketing in the Digital Era
This course aims at introducing the basic marketing concepts and the four key areas of marketing (i.e. the 4Ps), with emphasis on the integration of these areas and their application to formulating an effective marketing strategy.
Accounting in Practice
Provide students with a basic understanding of the accounting system, accounting principles and accounting statements. It also enables the students to prepare and appraise the financial statements.
Management in the Digital Era
Provide students a basic understanding of the key management functions that are used in business organizations. Students will be able to take a comprehensive overview of the managers’ job and how managers could effectively lead their teams to meet business challenges.
Data Analytics for Business
Introduce to students the basic concepts and applications of statistics used in business, with an emphasis on interpretation of output with various statistical methods and calculations for management decisions.
Digital Business Models and Implementation
Provide students with an understanding of the theories and concepts of information systems and electronic commerce (e-commerce) and how to apply these theories and concepts in today’s business world. The three major driving forces behind e-commerce – technology change, business development, and social issues are also covered.
Global Business in the Digital Era
Provide students with an understanding of the growth of international business and the impacts of globalization. The course also aims to equip students with skills and knowledge in managing international business.
Human Resources Management and People Operations
Enable the students to identify and explain the major human resource functions and practices in contemporary modern business organizations with particular reference to their applications in the local context.
Organizational Behaviour and Human Analytics
Provide students with an opportunity to apply the theoretical framework of organizational behavior to deal with daily management and organizational issues.
Talent and Performance Management
Provide students with a solid foundation for understanding the key concepts of performance & compensation management in modern business organizations. The analysis will be extended to link performance to pay through various management strategy and system.
Social Media Marketing
Provide students with a solid foundation for understanding the analytical framework for managing the marketing function of business organizations and the skills for developing maintaining successful social media marketing strategies. In particular, the latest social media marketing tools and techniques will be discussed.
Consumer and Netizen Behaviour
Provide student with the practical skills and analytical tools in diagnosing and applying the theories and concepts in relating to consumer behaviour.
Business Research and Analysis in the Digital Era
Provide students with an understanding on the fundamental structure of research methods and the methodical process that leads to good results in digital era. The role of business researcher in planning research objectives, designing sample and measurement processes, analyzing data, interpreting results and providing competitive recommendations are covered.
Digital Marketing in the Metaverse Era
Equip students with the principles, theories, and latest practices in marketing with a specialization in digital marketing and e-commerce in the Metaverse era. Students will acquire a basic understanding and the current market practices of various digital marketing scopes including but not limited to display, audience data, search engine marketing, content and social media, email/instant messenger, and e-commerce marketing. eShop set-up and operation demonstration will guide students to set up and run their eShops. Potential marketing opportunities in Metaverse will also be explored. Both local and international digital marketing cases will be discussed.
Application of Emerging Technologies in Business
Provide students with an understanding of the theories and concepts of emerging technologies in business and applying them in business. The contemporary examples together with associated ethical and social consideration of applying emerging technologies in businesses are covered.
Applications of Blockchain in Business
Introduce to students the basic concepts and applications of Blockchain, and how these applications can optimize management efficiency/gain marketing advantages. The challenges and opportunities of cryptocurrency, smart contracts and NFT, and other investments opportunities will be discussed.
AI Applications and Implementation
Provide fundamental knowledge of AI. In particular, its focus is to discuss the applications and implantation of AI in various business contexts. Students will also be exposed the basic AI programming skills and techniques so that they can understand the challenges and benefits of using AI. More importantly, this course can help participants to communicate with AI professionals and understands the future trends of AI and its applications.
Business Process Transformation with RPA
Introduce to students the basic concepts and latest applications of digital transformation, including workflow automation, data governance, and data compliance. Students will be taught how to use RPA tools and techniques to implement and automate the transformed business process.
Digital Communication and Video Production
Equip students with the principles, theories, and latest practices in digital communication with a specialization in digital video production. Students will acquire a basic understanding and the current digital communication approaches and video production. Guest speakers from different sectors in the digital communication and video production industry will be invited to supplement with real-life stories and experiences.
User Experience (UX) with Alternative Reality
Provide an understanding of alternative reality including augmented and virtual reality and demonstrate how new user experiences can be created through these latest techniques and skills. We explore how the alternative reality can be applied in various business environments. Additionally, students will be equipped with VR programming skills such that they can select and implement the “right” tools and techniques when creating and managing user experiences (UX). Students will learn and understand the “best” practices in the industry and the future trends in the related fields.
Futures Intelligence
Provide students with sufficient foundational awareness of the future-related knowledge that can inform decision-making, planning, strategy and innovation processes about the coming changes, challenges, and opportunities. The module also enables students in analytical knowledge about future changes, trends, and their potential impacts to obtain a comprehensive long-term situational awareness for further strategic planning.
