Aims 課程目的
The Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing Programme is a 2-year taught programme that equips students with professional knowledge and skills that enable them to provide patients with excellent holistic care, be an effective member of the animal healthcare team and become successful lifelong learners. Students will develop these knowledge and skills through multi-media lectures, small group tutorials, skills laboratory sessions, field studies and work placement.
Programme is taught by qualified veterinary nurses, veterinarians and staff with hands-on experience in the veterinary industry as well as veterinary education.
動物護理學高等文憑為一個兩年制日間課程，旨在為有志成為獸醫護士者提供有系統的專業培訓。課堂以多元化形式進行，並設有技術訓練、考察和實習。完成課程後，學員能夠為有需要的動物提供全面護理、並能成為動物醫護團隊的成員，同時亦能於專業範疇不斷進修，終身學習。
本課程由富有經驗的獸醫學教育老師任教，並由資深獸醫護士、獸醫、及業界專業人士擔任客席講師。
Programme Structure & Curriculum 課程結構及內容
The Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing Programme is made up of modules that provide students with the essential academic and professional knowledge and skills underpinning veterinary nursing. All subject-specific modules are delivered through a balanced combination of lectures, small group tutorials and clinical skills laboratory sessions.
The programme spans over 2 years. Students have to complete a total of 18 modules including 2 placement modules, 'Work Placement I and II' which will take place outside of semester time, during Christmas and summer breaks.
動物護理學高等文憑課程為期兩年，設有學術、專業和實習科目，學員需修讀18學科，當中的實習單元於每學期完後及暑期進行。

Work placement 實習
The work placement modules give students the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills developed in the 'classroom' to practice. Work placement is key for students to obtain real-life and clinical experiences in veterinary nursing, so that upon completion of the Programme they are suitably prepared for employment.
本課程將為學員提供實習機會，讓學員於工作實地環境體驗獸醫護理的工作，應用護理學理論，並獲取寶貴的臨床經驗。實習單元為本課程的重點學習項目，除了鞏固學習成效外，亦為學員於日後從事動物護理工作打好穩健基礎。
Assessment and Award 考核及証書頒發
Assessment is by a combination of coursework, tests and examinations. Also, students have to pass the technical skills tests prior to taking the work placement modules. A student will be recommended for the award of Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing upon successful completion of the programme in accordance with the programme requirements. An exit award, "Diploma in Animal Welfare and Care" will be granted to reward students who have difficulty in completing the clinical practice placement but successfully passed all other taught academic modules.
