Programme Aims
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Property Management and Real Estate course is aimed at equipping graduates with the skills and knowledge to enable them to pursue a professional career within the property management and real estate sector. It also provides training in the appropriate knowledge, skills, and enterprising spirit to practice professionally and ethically.
Programme Aims
- Address industry’s demand for graduates who can apply the principles of property management and real estate to the property sector.
- Enable students to pursue professional careers in property management and real estate at a level which requires the exercise of sound judgement and initiative, and the ability to make informed decisions in property situations that reflect a responsible, ethical, and socially aware outlook.
- Furnish students with a detailed understanding of the principles of property management and real estate, combined with an understanding of wider property issues, such as property economics and finance, contracts and law and management of the commercial real estate.
- Provide a broad-based education in property management and real estate, combined with an appreciation of wider property related areas.
- Require students to participate in group projects where the project team members are drawn from a range of construction and other property disciplines.
- Develop the ability to research familiar and unfamiliar subject areas related to property management and real estate, thereby enhancing the application of key property management and real estate issues into practical situations.
- Provide opportunity to students to apply the knowledge and skills already gained, in a property management and real estate environment, thereby broadening the student’s knowledge of principles and practices.
Classes and Venue
The teaching is delivered by experienced academic staff from University of Wolverhampton and local practitioners. Each module normally comprises intensive lectures delivered by teaching staff of University of Wolverhampton. After the intensive lectures, there will be tutorials delivered by local tutors for each module.
At the end of each semester, there will be another intensive sessions held by staff from University of Wolverhampton to provide additional support to students before the examination week or submission of the final reports.

Online learning materials will be provided to students for each module to support students' learning. Students will also be provided access to the CityU's Run Run Shaw Library (including electronic resources) and computer services centre located on campus.

In addition, students will also be provided access to the Wolverhampton On-line Learning Framework system, a purpose-built computer-based learning environment developed by University of Wolverhampton to enable students to access course notes, related resources and support materials, and to communicate with tutors and other students on-line. Students will also have access to online resources such as journals and e-book through the University of Wolverhampton Learning Centre Website.
Assessment and Final Award
All taught modules are assessed by coursework and/or written examination. Students will be awarded a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Property Management and Real Estate conferred by University of Wolverhampton upon successful completion of all the taught modules and dissertation of the programme.
Medium of Instruction
English
The English Learning Resources Corner (ELRC) is provided to students to find useful reference materials and to sharpen their English language proficiency. Students can read diverse types of English materials here, including academic reference books, magazines and fictions.
The Self-access English Learning Area (SELA) is offered to students to access the e-learning resources, such as online dictionaries, corpora, and language games, to learn English in their own time and at their own pace.
