Important Notes:
The standard duration of study for the BEng (Hons) Fire Engineering top-up programme, offered by CityUHK SCOPE in September 2025, will be two years, concluding at the end of August 2027. Please note that the 2025 intake will be the final intake of BEng (Hons) Fire Engineering programme offered by CityUHK SCOPE. No further intakes will be offered after this.
We are committed to supporting students who may face challenges in their studies under extenuating circumstances. This support will be available until December 2027, ensuring students have sufficient time to address any difficulties and achieve their academic goals. However, requests for the deferral of study will not be considered. All decisions made by CityUHK SCOPE and the University of Central Lancashire will be final.
The final decision on the commencement of the 2025 Intake is expected by mid-August 2025. This decision will depend on the final enrolment numbers. CityUHK SCOPE and the University of Central Lancashire reserve the right to cancel the 2025 intake if there is insufficient enrolment or in the event of any other extenuating circumstances.

In the case of re-assessment, additional fees will be charged. All fees paid are non-refundable.
Application
All applications will be processed on a rolling and competitive basis until all available places have been filled and, thus, early enrollment from interested parties are highly encouraged. The whole process and selection outcome will be endorsed by the University of Central Lancashire. All decisions will be final.

Applicants will be required to provide and upload the following documents in support of your application:
- Copies of your AD/HD certificate(s) and transcript(s);
- Copies of your English proficiency level (e.g. HKCEE/HKDSE/HKALE/IELTS certificate)
- Copies of employment proof
- Any other professional qualification(s)/supplementary information which is relevant to the assessment of your application

Important Notes for applying IFE discounts
- The 5% of IFE discounts are only applicable for non-CEF reimbursable modules (i.e. NOT applicable for CEF reimbursable modules). You can refer to the website at www.scope.edu/topup/fire-eng for the list of CEF reimbursable and non-CEF reimbursable modules of your programme.
- Students who wish to apply for 5% discount on the non-CEF reimbursable modules from the first instalment of 2025-2026 have to submit a copy of valid proof of IFE membership to fire.scope@cityu.edu.hk on or before 30 June 2025. Submission of valid proof of IFE membership during the period of 1 July 2025 to 31 October 2025 will fall into the final round process with discount effective starting from the second instalment of 2025-2026. All submission of valid proof of IFE membership after 31 October 2025 will not be handled.
Education Loan
Successful applicants are eligible to apply for the Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme (ENLS) administered by the Student Finance Office (SFO) of the HKSAR government. The maximum financial assistance under the ENLS is equivalent to the total tuition fees payable for the programme.

The mother programme BEng (Hons) Fire Engineering of the below modules are recognised under the Qualifications Framework (QF Level 5).
